Day-by-day itinerary

1Mexico City

Welcome to Mexico! You'll be transferred from the airport to your hotel, with the rest of the day free to relax or start exploring.

2Mexico City

A guided sightseeing tour covers the capital's essentials before continuing to the Basilica of Guadalupe. In the afternoon, cruise the canals of Xochimilco aboard a flower-festooned trajinera boat. In the evening you'll be transferred to the vibrant Plaza de Garibaldi, where dinner is included.

3Mexico City — El Oro de Hidalgo — Mina de las Dos Estrellas — Tlalpujahua — Pátzcuaro

Head west to the picturesque Pueblo Mágico of El Oro de Hidalgo, then explore the Mina de las Dos Estrellas, which brings the region's mining legacy to life. Continue to Tlalpujahua, renowned for its handcrafted Christmas ornaments, before finishing in Pátzcuaro, one of Mexico's most beautiful colonial towns.

4Pátzcuaro — Morelia — Cuitzeo del Porvenir — Guadalajara

Depart for Morelia, the capital of Michoacán, then continue to Cuitzeo del Porvenir, set beside the country's second-largest lake. The route carries on to Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco and a colonial city celebrated as the cradle of mariachi music and tequila.

5Guadalajara — Tequila — Guadalajara

Your Guadalajara visit includes entry to the Cabañas Hospice, a declared UNESCO World Heritage site. Afterward, travel to the picturesque town of Tequila with time for a stroll and lunch. Entrance to a distillery is included so you can see how Mexico's iconic drink is made, before returning to Guadalajara with free time.

6Guadalajara — Guanajuato

Travel to Guanajuato, where the afternoon features an included city tour of this stunning World Heritage university town, famed for its steep slopes, narrow streets, and historic churches. A cable car ride is also included, rewarding you with the sweeping panorama from the 'el Pípila' viewpoint.

7Guanajuato — Dolores Hidalgo — Atotonilco — San Miguel de Allende — Querétaro

Wind through the mountains to Dolores Hidalgo, the town where Mexican independence was born. Continue with visits to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco and beautiful San Miguel de Allende, both recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. By afternoon you'll arrive in the lively colonial city of Querétaro.

8Querétaro — Tula — Puebla — Val'Quirico — Mexico City

Begin at Tula, the ancient Toltec capital, where admission to the archaeological site is included. Next comes Puebla, a historic city known for its colonial architecture and vibrant zocalo, followed by Val'Quirico, a popular destination modeled on the European countryside. You'll be back in Mexico City by evening.

9Mexico City

After breakfast the tour officially ends. The transfer from the hotel to the airport is not included.
