Booking & payments
How does the 20% deposit work?
When you book, we authorize your card for 20% of the tour price — nothing is charged yet. Your booking is 'on hold' while we confirm your places with the tour operator, usually within 48 hours. Only once confirmed do we capture the deposit. If we can't confirm your dates, the authorization is released in full and you pay nothing.
When is the remaining balance due?
The balance is due before departure — currently 60 days before your tour starts (this timing is being finalized and will be stated on your confirmation). We'll email you a payment link well in advance; there are no surprise charges.
What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
Changes and cancellations follow the operator's general conditions, and the outcome depends on how close to departure you are. Before your deposit is captured, cancelling costs nothing. After confirmation, our booking terms page explains the process step by step.
Can I pay in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Tour prices are set in US dollars by the operator, and we convert to CAD at a fixed exchange rate at the time of booking, rounded up to the nearest $5. The site shows prices in either currency — use the USD/CAD toggle — so Canadian travelers always know their real cost before booking.
The tours
What kind of tours are these?
Escorted small group coach tours operated by Europamundo, a JTB Group company. You travel with a professional guide on a set itinerary with guaranteed regular departures, staying in pre-booked hotels along the way. Groups are international, and the pace balances guided sightseeing with free time to explore on your own.
What's included in the tour price?
Hotels with breakfast daily, an English-speaking guide, travel in a comfortable coach, an arrival airport transfer, basic travel insurance, and the touring described in the itinerary. Some tours include specific entrance tickets and meals — each tour page lists its exact inclusions.
What's NOT included?
International flights to and from Mexico, the final hotel-to-airport transfer at the end of the tour, optional excursions, most lunches and dinners, tips, and personal expenses. We list this up front so you can budget the whole trip accurately.
Do the guides speak English?
Yes. Every tour runs with English-speaking guides — the operator employs more than 380 professional guides across its network. Many departures are bilingual English/Spanish.
What are the hotels like?
Comfortable, well-located tourist-class hotels chosen by the operator, with breakfast included every morning. Exact properties depend on your departure date and are confirmed with your booking documents.
Are departures really guaranteed?
Yes — every itinerary has regular departures, year-round, and each one is guaranteed to run. You won't book months ahead only to be told the trip was cancelled for low numbers, which is a common problem with small group touring elsewhere.
Can I customize the itinerary?
Within the tour structure, yes — three flexibility options exist on every itinerary. Rotary Routes lets you join the route in a different city than the published start. Stop Yes lets you pause for 1, 3, 4 or 7 nights in a city you love, then rejoin the same itinerary. Sector Yes lets you book just a portion of a longer tour. Ask for any of these when you book and we'll arrange it with the operator.
Travel prep
Are flights included? How do I get to the tour start?
International flights are not included — you book your own flights to the start city (Mexico City for most tours; a few start in Cancún or Chihuahua). An arrival transfer from the airport to your first hotel IS included. Note that the final hotel-to-airport transfer at the end of the tour is not, so budget a taxi or ride-share for departure day.
What passport or visa do US and Canadian citizens need?
US and Canadian citizens need a passport valid for the length of their stay — no visa is required for tourist visits to Mexico. We recommend at least six months' validity beyond your travel dates as a general practice, and you'll complete a simple tourist entry process on arrival. Always check official government travel pages before you fly, as requirements can change.
Is travel insurance included?
Basic travel insurance from the operator is included with every tour. It covers the essentials, but limits are modest — we recommend most travelers, especially those from the US, add comprehensive coverage for medical care, trip cancellation and baggage. We're happy to point you to what to look for in an upgrade.
How does tipping work in Mexico?
Tips are not included in the tour price. In Mexico, tipping your guide and driver is customary — a common guideline is a few US dollars per person per day for each, given at the end of the tour. In restaurants, 10–15% is standard. Tipping is always at your discretion.
