Arrive in Mexico's vibrant capital, where a transfer takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

A sightseeing tour reveals the capital's highlights, followed by a transfer to the Basilica of Guadalupe. In the afternoon, float through the canals of Xochimilco aboard a flower-bedecked 'trajinera' boat. The evening brings a transfer to the mariachi-filled Plaza de Garibaldi, with dinner included.

Travel to the picturesque Pueblo Mágico of El Oro de Hidalgo, then tour Mina de las Dos Estrellas, a site showcasing the region's mining past. Next comes Tlalpujahua, famed for its handmade Christmas ornaments, before the day ends in Pátzcuaro, one of Mexico's loveliest colonial cities.

Depart for Morelia, capital of Michoacán, and continue to Cuitzeo del Porvenir on the shores of Mexico's second-largest lake. The route finishes in Guadalajara, the Jalisco capital where both Mariachi music and Tequila were born.

Explore Guadalajara including the UNESCO-listed Cabañas Hospice, then head to the town of Tequila for a stroll and lunch. An included distillery visit shows how the iconic spirit is produced before you return to Guadalajara with free time.

Arrive in Guanajuato and spend the afternoon on a city tour of this stunning World Heritage university town, with its steep hillsides, narrow alleys, and historic churches. A cable car ride is included, lifting you to the 'el Pípila' monument for a spectacular panorama.

Cross the mountains to Dolores Hidalgo, cradle of Mexican independence, then visit the Sanctuary of Atotonilco and the gorgeous UNESCO city of San Miguel de Allende. By afternoon you'll reach the lively colonial city of Querétaro.

Set out for Tula, the ancient Toltec capital, where entry to the archaeological site is included. Afterwards, arrive in Puebla, a historic city known for colonial architecture and an animated zocalo.

Travel to Oaxaca, arriving late morning, then ascend to Monte Albán — the grandest of the Zapotec cities overlooking the Oaxaca Valley — with admission and a guided tour included. Back in Oaxaca, enjoy free time in this fascinating Aztec-rooted city.

Pass through mountain landscapes and charming villages to the Pueblo Mágico of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. After crossing the Oaxacan sierras and enjoying an included lunch, you'll arrive in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital of Chiapas.

Take a thrilling boat trip through the sheer walls of the Sumidero Canyon, followed by a walk through Chiapa del Corzo. You'll then visit Zinacantan and San Juan de Chamula, villages where Mayan customs remain deeply rooted. Arrival in San Cristobal de las Casas, a beautiful colonial city, with free time.

Wind through the mountainous interior of Chiapas, home to traditional Mayan communities, with a stop in Ocosingo. Entry to Agua Azul National Park and lunch are included, followed by a walk among the cascades of Misol Ha. Continue to Palenque, where dinner is included.

Discover the magnificent Mayan archaeological site of Palenque before crossing Tabasco toward the Gulf of Mexico. The day ends in Campeche, the fortified colonial port city, with dinner included.

Continue into Yucatán and arrive in Mérida, a capital rich in colonial and Mayan heritage. An evening transfer to the Zócalo is included, giving you time to explore and enjoy dinner, and the afternoon is free to wander at your own pace. Overnight in Mérida.

After some final time discovering Mérida, transfer to the airport for the included regular flight back to Mexico City, where the touring portion of your journey concludes upon arrival.
