Mexican dream

Welcome to Mexico! You'll be transferred to your hotel on arrival, with the rest of the day free to relax and get your bearings.

A guided city tour showcases the highlights of the capital, followed by a visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe (transfer included). The afternoon brings a festive 'trajinera' boat ride through the flower-lined canals of Xochimilco. In the evening you'll be transferred to the lively Plaza de Garibaldi, where dinner is included.

Head west to the charming Pueblo Mágico of El Oro de Hidalgo, then descend into the region's mining history at the Mina de las Dos Estrellas, with admission included. You'll also visit Tlalpujahua, beloved for its handcrafted Christmas decorations, before arriving in Pátzcuaro, one of Mexico's most beautiful colonial towns.

Set off for Morelia, Michoacán's grand capital, and continue to Cuitzeo del Porvenir on the shores of the country's second-largest lake. The journey then leads to Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco and the acknowledged home of Mariachi music and Tequila.

Tour Guadalajara with included entry to the Cabañas Hospice, honored as UNESCO World Heritage. Continue to the postcard town of Tequila, where you'll have time to stroll and lunch, and step inside a distillery (entrance included) to see how the celebrated spirit is made. Return to Guadalajara with free time.

Travel to Guanajuato, the World Heritage university city draped over steep hillsides. The afternoon's included city tour winds through its narrow streets and historic churches, and a cable-car ride to the El Pípila viewpoint delivers a spectacular panorama over the town.

Cross the mountains to Dolores Hidalgo, cradle of Mexican independence, then visit the Sanctuary of Atotonilco. Continue to San Miguel de Allende, a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city, before arriving in the lively colonial city of Querétaro in the afternoon.

Depart for Tula, the ancient Toltec capital, where you'll explore the archaeological site with admission included. The day ends in Puebla, a historic city famous for its colonial architecture and lively zócalo.

Continue to Oaxaca, arriving in the late morning. You'll visit Monte Albán, the grandest of the Zapotec cities overlooking the Oaxaca Valley, with admission and guided tour included. Afterwards, enjoy free time in this fascinating Zapotec-rooted city.

Wind through mountains and charming villages to the Pueblo Mágico of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. Once over the Oaxacan sierras, sit down to an included lunch before reaching Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas.

A boat trip carries you between the towering walls of the Sumidero Canyon, followed by a walk through Chiapa del Corzo. You'll then visit Zinacantán and San Juan Chamula, communities with proud, living Mayan traditions. The day concludes in the lovely colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas with free time.

After some final time in San Cristóbal, a transfer takes you to Tuxtla Gutiérrez airport for your included scheduled flight back to Mexico City. On arrival you'll be transferred to your hotel for the night.

Enjoy breakfast before the tour officially ends. The transfer from the hotel to the airport is not included.
